Renan says differences with Moraes are a thing of the past.

After calling Alexandre de Moraes a "political boss" during the episode involving the detention of Legislative Police agents by the Federal Police last October, Renan Calheiros (PMDB-AL) said that his disagreements with him are "a thing of the past." Nominated by Michel Temer to occupy a seat on the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Moraes met with PMDB senators on Tuesday for an hour and ten minutes.

Brasilia 247 - Four months after calling then-Justice Minister Alexandre de Moraes a "political boss," the PMDB leader in the Senate, Renan Calheiros (AL), said that his disagreements with him are "a thing of the past." Nominated by Michel Temer to occupy a seat on the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Moraes met with PMDB senators on Tuesday afternoon, the 14th, for an hour and ten minutes.

The information is from Report by Vera Rosa and Ricardo Brito in Estado de S.Paulo.

"In the Senate party leadership office, where the minister on leave presented his ideas, were parliamentarians under investigation in Operation Lava Jato, including Renan himself."

In October of last year, when agents of the Legislative Police were detained by the Federal Police, Renan – then president of the Senate – said that Moraes was not behaving like a Minister of Justice. He stated, at the time, that he seemed like a "police chief" and that he spoke more than he should, "saying good morning to a horse."

Asked on Tuesday if it wasn't contradictory to support Moraes for Teori Zavascki's seat on the Supreme Court, after so much criticism leveled against him in the past, Renan smiled. "You said it well. It's a thing of the past," he deflected.
