Raad suffers another defeat in the Chamber.

After the Attorney General's Office of the CLDF (Legislative Chamber of the Federal District) dismissed the request to suspend the breach of decorum proceedings made by the lawyers of Deputy Raad Massouh (PPL) to the Board of Directors, the parliamentarian's defense will go to court to stall the case before the district representatives definitively decide whether or not to maintain Raad's mandate.

Brasilia247 – The Attorney General's Office of the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District (CLDF) has dismissed the request to suspend the breach of decorum proceedings made by the defense of Deputy Raad Massouh (PPL) to the Board of Directors. According to the parliamentarian's lawyers, who are accused of embezzling R$ 70 of the R$ 100 allocated to a musical event in 2010 in Sobradinho, they argued that there needs to be equality in relation to the decisions made regarding three other parliamentarians. Amidst the difficult situation the deputy is facing, his defense will attempt to go to court to stall the case before the district representatives definitively decide whether or not to maintain Massouh's mandate.

The House's legal department understands that the Board does not have the autonomy to suspend positions previously taken by the committees, according to an article in Correio Braziliense. However, both the Constitution and Justice Committee (CCJ) and the Committee for the Defense of Human Rights, Citizenship, Ethics and Parliamentary Decorum have positioned themselves in favor of the deputy's expulsion.

The main argument is that the Chamber should analyze the parliamentarian's case using the principle of equality. This is because three other deputies – Benedito Domingos (PP), Aylton Gomes (PR), and Rôney Nemer (PMDB) – had their internal proceedings suspended until a judicial decision was reached. All three were accused of receiving bribes from the Executive branch in exchange for support in the Legislative Chamber.
