According to the Painel column, the party is considering launching a solo candidacy for Congressman Paulo Teixeira for president. The party has 57 congressmen in its caucus. “The probability of supporting Rodrigo is lower. Support for Jovair was higher, but it has also fallen. According to the column, Teixeira's candidacy would give the party a platform to reinforce the "coup" narrative against Temer — and would encourage Maia and Jovair to be more flexible in negotiations with the party. The decision is expected to be made on Tuesday (31).
