247 - The PSDB announced this Wednesday (5) via Twitter that it will begin a process to expel federal deputy Celso Sabino (PA) from the party.

The decision comes as a result of Sabino accepting the Centrão's nomination to occupy the position of Majority Leader in the Chamber of Deputies, which is currently held by Aguinaldo Ribeiro (Progressistas-PB), an ally of the president, Rodrigo Maia (DEM-RJ).

"We hereby inform you that, later today, formal measures will be taken to submit, in accordance with internal rules, the request for the expulsion of Congressman Celso Sabino from the PSDB party," says a statement signed by the president of the PSDB, Bruno Araújo.

The party president also states that Sabino's expulsion is motivated by "the congressman's stance, without discussion and in dissonance with the party, with national and caucus leadership, regarding the repercussions and consequences of allowing himself to be nominated for such a position within the Federal Chamber."
