247 - A teacher assaulted an 11-year-old student inside the classroom at the Professora Zelsani Municipal Military School in Quirinópolis (GO). The teacher slapped the child at least 10 times, according to security camera footage.
At a school in Quirinópolis, a teacher tripped over a backpack that was on the floor and, after putting it back in its place, began hitting the student's desk. Then he slapped the student, many times on the head. The victim tried to protect himself with his arms before getting up and moving away. The incident occurred on October 29th.
The Quirinópolis City Hall confirmed the preventive suspension of the educator. Authorities did not release the teacher's name. During the assault, another education professional who was in the room tried to restrain the teacher.
In a statement, the school administration reported that "all administrative measures have been taken" and that the Child Protective Services, as well as the competent authorities, have been contacted. The institution has also initiated an internal administrative process to investigate the case.
