About to be indicted, Cunha promises retaliation.
Following Operation Politeia, part of Lava Jato, the Speaker of the House, Eduardo Cunha (PMDB-RJ), confided that he expects to be indicted by the Attorney General of the Republic, Rodrigo Janot, and promised to retaliate against the Presidential Palace; he reportedly warned Vice President Michel Temer (PMDB) that he will establish Parliamentary Commissions of Inquiry (CPIs) detrimental to the government upon the return from the parliamentary recess: one on the BNDES (Brazilian Development Bank) and another on pension funds; furthermore, he says he will orchestrate the summoning of the Minister of the Civil House, Aloizio Mercadante, and Edinho Silva, from the Ministry of Social Communication, to the Petrobras CPI.
247 Operation Politeia, part of the Lava Jato investigation, which carried out search and seizure operations against three senators, has put the Speaker of the House, Eduardo Cunha (PMDB-RJ), on alert.
He confided that he expects to be indicted by the Attorney General of the Republic, Rodrigo Janot, and promises to retaliate against the Presidential Palace – in reference to the testimony of executive Júlio Camargo, who made a plea bargain agreement with the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office.
The PMDB member reportedly warned Vice President Michel Temer (PMDB) that he will install parliamentary commissions of inquiry (CPIs) that are detrimental to the government upon the return from the parliamentary recess: one on the BNDES (Brazilian Development Bank) and another on pension funds.
He also says that he will arrange for Mercadante and Edinho Silva (Social Communication) to be summoned to the Petrobras CPI (Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry).
