Police officer shoots at driver and bullet hits six-year-old child.
A 6-year-old boy was shot in the chest by a Civil Police officer from the Federal District on Friday morning (6) during a traffic dispute; the situation occurred at km 15 of BR-070, in Águas Lindas de Goiás; witnesses reported that the police officer had a disagreement with the driver of the other car and shot him; the child was strapped into a car seat and was taken by helicopter to the Hospital de Base in serious condition.
Brasilia 247- A 6-year-old boy was shot in the chest by a Civil Police officer from the Federal District on Friday morning (6) during a traffic dispute. The situation occurred at km 15 of BR-070, in Águas Lindas de Goiás. Witnesses reported that the police officer had a disagreement with the driver of the other car and shot him at around 10 am. The child was strapped into a car seat and was taken to the Hospital de Base in serious condition.
The Civil Police reported that the internal affairs department went to Águas Lindas to follow up on the case. The police officer is 54 years old and is a prison guard at the Penitentiary Progression Center (CPP). He will face administrative proceedings, which could result in dismissal.
