247 - Federal deputy Luiz Pitiman and his political group, with 30 pre-candidates for district deputy and two for federal deputy, will join, as a group, a new party. He met last night (23), at his home, in Lago Norte, with future candidates, from various parties, including PSB, PTB, PDT and even PT.
At the end of the meeting, the regional president of the PSDB party, former minister Eduardo Jorge, federal deputy Izalci Lucas, and former governor Maria Lourdes Abadia were also present at Pitiman's house. They formally invited everyone to join the PSDB. The group will still decide which direction to take.
Pitiman thanked everyone for their presence and informed that he had filed his departure from the PMDB yesterday morning (23). He managed, together with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), to leave the party because he was unhappy with its direction, both nationally and locally. The meeting was attended by other supporters of Pitiman, including lawyers who advised the pre-candidates on how to proceed.
“I was authorized by the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) to take the path that my conscience dictates and not to follow a political party with which I disagree, which supports the PT's (Workers' Party) misgovernment, involved in scandals in Brazil and in Brasília,” Pitiman emphasized. He explained that he examined all the likely presidential candidates and concluded that the best candidate is Senator Aécio Neves. “We are going to create a great platform for Aécio here in Brasília,” Pitiman assured.
The regional president of the PSDB party, former minister Eduardo Jorge, emphasized that "Brasília no longer deserves to remain with this current government" and that the PSDB wants not only to elect the future president of the Republic, but also the governor of the Federal District. "Brasília will have a candidate number 45," he said, referring to a PSDB candidate. 45 is the party's official number.
Former governor Maria Lourdes Abadia, the last to arrive at Pitiman's house, after being introduced to each of those present, said that if they choose the PSDB party, "you will all be very welcome to the party." Federal deputy Izalci Lucas also expressed his desire for Pitiman's group to join the PSDB.
Pitiman, in turn, said that the 32 pre-candidates are men and women with different mindsets, representing distinct regions and categories, but all sharing a common desire for a better Brasília. "Our sentiment is for ethics, and we have a strong will to change what is there, giving a management overhaul to this city and this country," the congressman emphasized.
