Reuters - Brazil's Attorney General, Augusto Aras, ordered on Sunday the immediate opening of a criminal investigation to hold those involved in the invasion of the Three Powers buildings in Brasília accountable.
In a statement, Aras said he is monitoring and following with "concern the acts of vandalism against public buildings that are occurring in Brasília" this Sunday.
"Aras maintains constant contact with the authorities and has adopted the initiatives within the institution's purview to prevent further acts of violence," he reported.
"Among the measures taken today, the Attorney General requested the Federal District Attorney's Office (PRDF) to immediately open a criminal investigation aimed at holding those involved accountable," he added.
