247 - The Federal Police (PF) ruled out, in the early hours of this Friday (August 8th), the presence of any explosive device on an Azul airline plane that had to make an emergency landing at Brasília International Airport. The incident occurred on Thursday night (August 7th), when a note containing a bomb threat was found in the aircraft's bathroom, leading the crew to declare an emergency. Flight AD4816 had taken off from São Luís (MA) at 6:27 PM bound for Viracopos Airport in Campinas (SP), where it was scheduled to land around 9:30 PM. After the discovery of the message, the flight plan was altered, and the plane continued to the federal capital.
The aircraft landed in Brasília at 20:45 PM, according to data from the Flight Aware website, which monitors air traffic. Specialized teams conducted a bomb sweep at the site, confirming that there were no explosives on board.
Upon landing, 170 passengers and the crew were able to disembark without incident. After inspection, the Federal Police cleared the aircraft to resume operations.
Investigations are ongoing to identify who made the threat. So far, the police have not released details about suspects or possible motives for the crime.
