Brazilian Federal Police rule out indicting Carla Zambelli for coercion and obstruction of justice.
The Attorney General's Office will be the one to comment on a possible indictment.
247 - The Federal Police (PF) stated that federal deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP) did not act to coerce ministers of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) or hinder the progress of her criminal case during her stay in Italy.
In a report sent to Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, investigators cleared the congresswoman from being indicted. The magistrate forwarded the document to the Attorney General's Office (PGR), which will have 15 days to comment on a possible indictment.
According to the Federal Police, the congresswoman admitted to intending to obstruct the criminal proceedings, but there is no evidence that Zambelli acted to hinder the investigation.
In 2025, the Brazilian Supreme Court sentenced Zambelli to 10 years in prison for hacking into the systems of the National Council of Justice (CNJ).
