PCdoB reinforces support for Agnelo.
In a statement, the party classifies the accusations against the governor as false; the PCdoB believes that Agnelo is a victim of a political dispute within the Federal District.
Brasília 247 – The district branch of the party comes out in defense of the governor of the Federal District, Agnelo Queiroz, releasing a statement of support. In the statement, the party endorses the claim that Agnelo is suffering political persecution from adversaries who are far from power. "Since his election and inauguration as governor, Agnelo Queiroz and his government have been continuously attacked by the opposition and by the groups that controlled Brasília and were defeated in 2010."
According to the party, the main difficulty faced by Queiroz's government was inherited from previous administrations. "The difficulties of the local government, mostly inherited from corrupt administrations that preceded it, are amplified by a fierce political struggle waged by those who were ousted from district power. These sectors have been fomenting false accusations and attempting to promote political instability and divert Brasília from the course chosen by its voters."
The governor of the Federal District, before joining the Workers' Party, was affiliated with the Communist Party of Brazil (PCdoB). See the full statement from the party below.
"Since being elected and sworn in as governor, Agnelo Queiroz and his government have been continuously attacked by the opposition and by the groups that controlled Brasília and were defeated in 2010. Finding a district administration riddled with vices, the governor formed his team with the political forces that participated in his victory, including the Communist Party of Brazil, PCdoB."

The Communist Party of Brazil (PCdoB) participates in the elaboration of a new development project for the country. Thus, it acts from the perspective of building a new, socialist society, where the human being is the central object of economic and social development. In the Federal District, the communists participate in the government with the objective of bringing Brasília into line with the project of changes that has been occurring in Brazil since Lula's first victory and which continues under Dilma's government. The resumption of development with income distribution, social inclusion, and the Growth Acceleration Plan (PAC) are expressions of the achievements of this new political cycle in the country.
We thus join the commitment of the elected political forces who, together, have the responsibility to meet the expectations of the population with the victory of Agnelo and his allies.
The Party reaffirms its commitment to the interests of the people of the Federal District and collaborates for the success of this experience of progressive forces. It works to ensure that administrative management is carried out with transparency and integrity, improving public services and making our Capital a city that its residents are proud of.
