MARIANA DAMACENO, FROM AGÊNCIA BRASÍLIA - Managers of public and private institutions have two more weeks to access the Registration System for Educational Institutions, from Student Free Passand validate their registration — the deadline is August 31st (Wednesday). Since the beginning of the process, on August 1st.As of Tuesday (16), 246 people had completed the process. The measure is essential so that students do not have their right to free public transport blocked.

The list of institutions that need access to the system includes, in addition to private schools, 7 park schools, 14 inter-school language centers (CILs), and 109 schools that offer Youth and Adult Education (EJA). Public regular education schools are already included in the database of the Federal District Urban Transport (DFTrans) and therefore do not need to validate their registration.

Having 246 accesses doesn't mean that the same number of institutions have already validated their registration. This is because more than one person per location can register, as long as they are a manager—such as a director or secretary. Access is required. DFTrans websiteTo do this, click on the system banner, enter your CPF (Brazilian individual taxpayer registration number), choose the institution you belong to, and finally, fill out the form.

The manager will need to fill in personal data such as full name, date of birth, and email, in addition to saving copies of institutional documents, such as the act of recognition and proof of registration, proof of regularity of the national register of legal entities (CNPJ), and proof of address. The information will be validated by DFTrans, which has up to ten business days for the analysis. "Despite the deadline, we are analyzing the information in an average of one and a half days," explains the coordinator of information systems at the agency, Lívia Lima.

Students may be harmed if schools fail to validate their enrollment.

According to the Director of Information Technology at DFTrans, Luciano Helou, registering the managers is a crucial step in complying with the legislation governing the granting of the Student Free Pass. Ordinance No. 5, of February 24, 2016Article 16 of the law stipulates that, for the benefit to be released, DFTrans must receive the student's updated attendance record.

Student attendance records will be submitted monthly by registered administrators. If this does not occur, the student's benefit will be blocked. "We need to verify that the beneficiary is attending school," summarizes Helou. The goal of this monitoring is to prevent fraud and the continued granting of benefits to people who do not attend classes. If any irregularity is found, the card will be blocked.

The student will be notified by DFTrans via email about the loss of the benefit. If there is any error, the student must contest it at the educational institution where they are enrolled, and the institution, in turn, will contact DFTrans through the system.

According to Lívia Lima, DFTrans has been meeting with representatives from private institutions and the Department of Education to discuss the matter. She estimates that more than 500 units need to validate their registration. Managers who need assistance can contact the agency via email.suporte.scie@dftrans.df.gov.br.
