Gisele Federicce / 247 – The father of the judge who will oversee the execution of the sentences in Criminal Action 470, former district deputy for the PSDB, Raimundo Ribeiro, stated in an interview with... 247 On the morning of Monday the 25th, he stated that he doesn't discuss work or politics with his son, Bruno Ribeiro. "I don't argue with him, nor does he argue with me. Each of us has our own role, there's no reason to keep arguing," he said.

Today a member of the PSDB Executive Committee in the Federal District – and not a member of the party's leadership, as reported by 247 and which he was keen to correct – Raimundo Ribeiro also denies, when questioned, whether there was any political influence on his son during his time as a parliamentarian. "Of course not, after all, he is a tenured judge, and before that he was a federal prosecutor."

The politician, speaking on the phone, mentions that he currently works as the presenter of the program Tribuna Livre, broadcast on TV Brasília, and is also a sports commentator, university professor, and that above all, he was a prosecutor. "Politics is just a phase in my life," he emphasizes. According to him, the field never appealed to Bruno Ribeiro. "My son, in truth, never got involved in politics, he was never into politics," he says.

The 34-year-old judge has just been appointed to oversee the execution of sentences for those convicted in the so-called 'mensalão' scandal, by direct decision of the president of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Joaquim Barbosa, who expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of his predecessor, Ademar Silva de Vasconcelos. The appointment has generated significant media attention, especially due to the new magistrate's ties to the PSDB party – since his father was a congressman for that party.

Raimundo says he "regrets" these media analyses – including those from 247 – and affirms that the role played by these outlets aims to serve their own interests. Another journalist who mentioned Bruno Ribeiro's connection to the PSDB party was... Fernando Rodrigues, from UOLBut despite denying his political influence over his son, some facts – such as social media posts – They show that the family is clearly positioned in favor of Joaquim Barbosa and against the defendants in AP 470.
