247 - Supreme Federal Court (STF) Justice Alexandre de Moraes denied the request for temporary release for Easter for former congressman Daniel Silveira (RJ), who is imprisoned in the José Frederico Marques Public Jail in Rio de Janeiro. According to the magistrate, the former Bolsonaro supporter has repeatedly violated court orders and has shown "total disrespect for the Judiciary."

"In light of the foregoing, pursuant to Article 21 of the Internal Regulations of the Supreme Federal Court, I deny the request for temporary release submitted by the convicted individual Daniel Lúcio da Silveira," wrote the minister.

Silveira was transferred to a closed prison regime on December 24th, after violating the terms of his parole granted by Moraes. In 2022, the former congressman was sentenced by the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to 8 years and 9 months in prison for inciting anti-democratic acts and attacking ministers of the Court. He later received a pardon from Jair Bolsonaro, but the courts ordered his imprisonment in 2024 after further violations.

The former Bolsonaro-supporting congressman was a member of parties such as PSL, União Brasil, PTB, and is currently without a party affiliation.
