Minister Luís Roberto Barroso suspends minimum wage for nurses.

The minimum wage was set at R$ 4.750 for both the public and private sectors.

247 - Supreme Court Justice Luís Roberto Barroso suspended the effects of the law that established a minimum wage for nurses. The minimum wage was set at R$ 4.750 for both the public and private sectors. 

According to the Jota portalThe minister stated that he will submit his decision to a referendum by his colleagues in the virtual plenary session in the coming days. And it is expected to be followed by a majority of his colleagues. 

The minister gave a 60-day deadline for public and private healthcare institutions to clarify some doubts, such as the financial impacts of the law, whether there would be risks of layoffs in hospitals, and a possible reduction in the quality of services.
