Brasilia247 – Representatives from the Federal District Metro and the Federal District Metro Workers Union (Sindmetrô-DF) are scheduled to meet this Wednesday (October 23rd) to discuss the metro workers' strike, which began this Monday (October 21st). The meeting will take place at the Regional Labor Court (TRT).

The category is demanding a public competition to fill 232 vacancies in various positions. Subway workers argue that the current number of employees is insufficient to meet service demand and are also requesting increased security for users and employees.

On Monday, the Brasília Metro filed a lawsuit requesting that the strike be declared illegal. According to Correio, the company reported that a document was presented to the union outlining the schedule for a public recruitment process, the announcement of which is expected to be released on December 13th of this year.

On the other hand, the union's Director of Legal Affairs, Tânia Aguiar, says that the document has no legal validity. According to her, in other strikes, the same document was presented to the workers and nothing was done to address their demands.
