247 - The PT leader in the Chamber of Deputies, Lindbergh Farias (RJ), warned this Friday (19) about the seriousness of the arrangements made by federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) with the Donald Trump government (USA) and defended the expulsion of the parliamentarian, who is also a civil servant in the Federal Police.

In a post on the social network X, the Workers' Party leader highlighted that "the Federal Police opened administrative proceedings against Eduardo Bolsonaro." "He needs to be impeached and dismissed from the Federal Police immediately. We have already submitted a joint petition with more than 400 signatures, but the Ethics Committee insists on shielding him: his complaints are not being processed, in a scandal that shames Parliament," wrote Lindbergh.

According to the PT (Workers' Party) congressman, "Eduardo is a traitor to the nation: he conspired against democracy, orchestrated foreign sanctions against Brazil, and used his mandate to sabotage institutions."

"He turned his public office into a weapon against his own country. There is no room for inaction or leniency. It is the duty of the institutions to decree the revocation of his mandate and the dismissal of the Federal Police officer. The Brazilian people will not accept financing the privileges of those who attack national sovereignty."

Coup plot and the USA

Congressman Eduardo Bolsonaro had also been indicted by the Federal Police for obstruction of justice in the investigation into the coup plot. His father, Jair Bolsonaro (PL), was also indicted. The investigation into the attempted coup ended up in the Supreme Federal Court. The Supreme Court convicted the former president and seven other defendants.

The investigation into the coup plot was the reason for the sanctions announced by US President Donald Trump. The United States imposed a 50% tariff on Brazilian exports and suspended visas for Supreme Court justices to travel to the United States.

In early September, the Lula government announced a R$ 30 billion credit line to finance the Sovereign Brazil Plan, following Trump's measures. The Brazilian government's response is focused on three areas: strengthening the productive sector, protecting workers, and commercial diplomacy and multilateralism.
