247 - The Federal Court of the Federal District granted a request from the Attorney General's Office (AGU) to freeze the assets of 40 more Bolsonaro supporters arrested in the act. 8/1

Federal Judge Francisco Alexandre Ribeiro pointed out that the Union attached copies of the arrest records to the case file and acknowledged that there is "strong evidence, therefore, that the aforementioned defendants participated in the anti-democratic acts and demonstrations that culminated in the invasion and mass destruction of the official headquarters of the Three Branches of Government, which is why the Union's argument that they contributed to the substantial damage to public property is absolutely plausible, and they are therefore liable for significant civil responsibility, under the terms of articles 186, 927 and 942 of the Civil Code."

The precautionary action filed by the Attorney General's Office aims to ensure reimbursement to public coffers should those involved be convicted. The damage to the headquarters of the Three Branches of Government is estimated at R$ 18,5 million.

To date, 92 individuals and seven companies have had their assets frozen for financing or participating in the 8/1 terrorist attacks. (With Veja).
