Brazilian Newspaper - The Brasília court ordered this Friday (6) the blocking of assets of the Batista family and their companies. The decision by Judge Ricardo Leite, of the 10th Federal Court of Brasília, affects 21 individuals and legal entities, and includes Joesley and Wesley Batista, of the J&F Group.
Businessmen Joesley and Wesley had their preventive detentions ordered in September. Joesley, owner of JBS, is accused of using privileged information to profit in the financial market between April and May 2017.
The time frame in which the accusations against Joesley fall coincides with the plea bargain he signed with the Attorney General's Office (PGR) in May of this year, when President Michel Temer became a target of Operation Lava Jato for negotiating the silence of former congressman Eduardo Cunha (PMDB), who has been imprisoned for a year in the operation.
Judge Ricardo Leite's decision was sent to the Central Bank and forwarded this Friday (6) to all Brazilian banks where the family may have accounts.
