José Múcio: The Armed Forces have no involvement in the coup attempts.

"I understand that there was no direct involvement of the Armed Forces," said the Defense Minister after a meeting with Lula.

247 - Defense Minister José Múcio Monteiro said this Friday (20) that the Armed Forces (FFAA) have no involvement in the coup attempts of the last 8th in Brasília (DF), where Bolsonaro supporters invaded Congress, the Planalto Palace and the Supreme Federal Court (STF). 

"I understand that there was no direct involvement of the Armed Forces. Now, if any individual participated, they will be held accountable as a citizen," said the minister after President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's meeting with the commanders of the Armed Forces.

According to the minister, the coup attempts These were not topics of discussion at the meeting.The minister said that the military "is aware of and agrees" with actions to punish members who participated in the acts of vandalism. 

"Obviously, in the heat of the moment, we need to be careful to ensure that these accusations are fair and the punishments are fair. Everything will be taken care of in due time."
