The Vicente Pires Olympic Games begin this Saturday (14)
Among the sports being contested are futsal, volleyball, dodgeball, and chess; the competition runs until May 5th.
Brasília Agency - The Vicente Pires Regional Administration is promoting the 2nd edition of the city's Olympic Games. The tournament starts tomorrow (14) and runs until May 5. It will include futsal, dodgeball, volleyball, marathon, tug-of-war, chess and karate competitions. The opening will be at 9 am, at the Taguaparque Gymnasium. Admission is one kilo of non-perishable food. The judo, mini-marathon, dodgeball, tug-of-war and chess events will be held on April 20 in front of the Vicente Pires Regional Administration.
The other events will take place at the Centro Desportivo Brasil Central in Vicente Pires, on Rua 10 A. One thousand five hundred students aged 6 to 14, from public and private schools in Vicente Pires, Taguatinga, Águas Claras, Arniqueira, Ceilândia, Gama and Águas Lindas, will participate in the competitions.
At the opening ceremony, the Olympic torch will be handed over by karate athlete Ronaldo Marques, a 5th Dan black belt in the Uechi-Ryu style, Pan-American martial arts champion, South American martial arts champion, and member of the Brasilia Karate Team.
