Janja and EBC are being sued in the São Paulo courts.
The reason for the lawsuit was a live broadcast called "Papo de Respeito" (Respectful Talk), produced at the facilities of Empresa Brasil de Comunicação (Brazilian Communication Company).
247 - The Federal Court of the state of São Paulo received this Wednesday (8) a lawsuit against the first lady Rosângela da Silva, known as Janja, and EBC, because of a live broadcast "Papo de Respeito", produced at the public company's facilities and retransmitted on Tuesday on TV Brasil's social media accounts. The information was published by Lauro Jardim's column.
According to councilman Rubinho Nunes (União Brasil-SP), the use of the broadcaster in the creation and dissemination of the content would have harmed the autonomy of EBC and violated the principle of impartiality in public power.
The program featured appearances by Janja and the Minister for Women, Cida Gonçalves. It was presented by actress Luana Xavier, at Janja's invitation, and addressed women's issues in commemoration of International Women's Day.
