Hélio Doyle: "Parliamentary Commissions of Inquiry cannot be manipulated by police officers"

A journalist calls the announcement by some Civil Police delegates that they "would voluntarily cooperate with the Health CPI investigations" a "disservice to the profession"; "The decision, taken by the delegates' union, was clearly political: a reprisal against the governor for not authorizing the salary readjustment for civil police officers," denounces the columnist for the Jornal de Brasília.

Brasilia 247 – Columnist Hélio Doyle, from the Jornal de Brasília newspaper, calls it a "disservice to the profession" that some Civil Police delegates announced that they "would voluntarily cooperate with the investigations of the Health CPI," which will investigate allegations of corruption against the government of the Federal District, led by Rodrigo Rollemberg.

"The decision, taken by the delegates' union, was clearly political: a reprisal against the governor for not authorizing the salary readjustment for civil police officers," denounces Doyle in his column this Tuesday, the 26th. According to Doyle, union leader Rafael Sampaio, who was dismissed yesterday from his position in the Security Secretariat, "lost his mind" by offering the Civil Police structure for the parliamentary investigation.

"If the Civil Police is lacking personnel, as is alleged, the delegates could donate their free time to the corporation, and not to the Legislative Chamber. And they shouldn't even be thinking about exerting political pressure using the CPI," Doyle further criticizes.

"The delegates' decision was eminently political, which doesn't reflect well on them or the CPI," the journalist emphasizes. "The objective of most CPI members is to weaken the government and, preferably, target the governor," he adds.
