Fraga files police report against CPI Hurricane
The regional president of the DEM party accuses candidate for district deputy Denise Rocha Leitão, also from the Democrats, of slander and defamation. “She came to me asking for R$ 400 and I explained that this is not how an election is contested. I offered her a kit with campaign leaflets and stickers, as I did with all the DEM candidates. But she didn't like the answer and started insulting me on social media,” says the author of the complaint. Famous for starring in a sex tape that leaked during the Cachoeira CPI investigation in Congress in August 2012, the lawyer and former advisor to Senator Ciro Nogueira (PP-PI) denies being the author of the insults, saying that Fraga promised her all the necessary campaign resources, “but didn't keep his word.”
Brasilia 247 - The DEM party was involved in the first major scandal of the election campaign. As reported in the Eixo Capital column by Ana Maria Campos and Helena Mader, the regional president of the party, Alberto Fraga, filed a police report at the 1st Police Station on the afternoon of last Thursday (24) against the candidate for district deputy Denise Rocha Leitão. The lawyer and former advisor to Senator Ciro Nogueira (PP-PI) gained notoriety after starring in a sex video that leaked during the Cachoeira CPI in Congress, in August 2012. As a result, she earned the nickname Hurricane of the CPI and was invited to participate in a reality show.
Fraga accuses Denise of slander and defamation. The candidate approached the president of the DEM party seeking campaign funds. “She came to me asking for R$ 400 and I explained that this is not how an election is contested. I offered her a kit with leaflets and stickers, as I did with all the DEM candidates. But she didn't like the answer and started insulting me on social media,” says Fraga.
Denise denies being the author of the insults. She claims that the attacks on Alberto Fraga are the work of his fans. “I only posted online what had happened, I said that someone made me a promise and didn't keep it. My fans, who are very loyal and protect me a lot, were outraged by everything that happened,” says Denise. “He (Fraga) invited me several times to join the DEM party and to run for office, saying I would have all the support I needed. But he didn't keep his word,” adds the candidate.
