Henrique Alves' daughter speaks of 'someone behind the scenes' working to get her father released.
In a phone call intercepted by the Federal Police as part of Operation Lavat, Andressa de Azambuja Alves Steinmann, daughter of former minister Henrique Eduardo Alves (PMDB), is heard saying that there was 'someone working, in Brasília, behind the scenes, for the release' of her father; this information is contained in a report from the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office to the court; according to the MPF, telephone interceptions indicate that Andressa discusses her father's arrest in "Operation Manus" also with Laurita Silveira Dias Arruda, the former minister's wife; Andressa and Laurita Arruda were the target of a search and seizure warrant in Operation Lavat, an offshoot of Manus – which, on June 6, led to the arrest of the PMDB member.

The information is contained in an opinion from the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office to the Court. Andressa Alves and the ex-minister's wife, Laurita Arruda, were the target of a search and seizure warrant in Operation Lavat, an offshoot of Operation Manus – which, on June 6, led to the arrest of the PMDB politician.
According to the opinion of the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office, telephone interceptions indicate that Andressa discusses the arrest of her father, in "Operation Manus", also with Laurita Silveira Dias Arruda Câmara (audio files indexed 12953470, 12966629 and 12976564).
The Public Prosecutor's Office cited a report from the Federal Revenue Service in its opinion. According to the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office, the opinion indicates that "a large part of Henrique Eduardo Lyra Alves' assets, mainly real estate, are registered in the name of Andressa de Azambuja, which may constitute concealment of illicitly acquired assets."
