The PSOL-Rede Federation elects Erika Hilton as the first transgender parliamentary leader in the history of Congress.

247 - Federal deputy Erika Hilton (PSOL-SP) was chosen by the PSOL-Rede Federation caucus this Wednesday (21) to lead the party's leadership in the House. She will be the first trans parliamentarian to lead a leadership position in Congress. The congresswoman will lead a group of 14 parliamentarians.
"It is an honor, but our responsibility will be absolutely greater in the face of the offensives from the far right and the center against the Lula government," stated the congresswoman, adding that she will continue fighting for "improvements in the quality of life and rights of the social majorities."
Erika succeeds federal deputy Guilherme Boulos (PSOL-SP), who will dedicate himself this year to the campaign for Mayor of São Paulo.
The congresswoman from the Socialism and Liberty Party (PSOL) was elected to her first term in the Chamber of Deputies in 2022. She and congresswoman Duda Salabert (PDT-MG) are the first transgender parliamentarians in the history of the House.
