Exiles of the Volcano wins the Brasília Film Festival.

Brasilia - The big winner of the 46th Brasília Film Festival was... Exiles of the Volcano, by Paula Gaitán, in the feature fiction category. The documentary feature was... The Master and the Divine, by Tiago Campos.

"I am thrilled to receive this award because there are extraordinary people competing with me at this festival. I wanted to share this award with my team," said Paula Gaitán. The festival jury also awarded Michael Wahrmann, for Avanti Popolo, the prize for best director.

The 46th Brasília Film Festival of Brazilian Cinema spanned six days of competitive screenings, showcasing 12 feature films, including six documentaries and six fiction films. The festival was marked by packed theaters, a mix of young and veteran filmmakers, and the return of the revitalized Cine Brasília.

The traditional venue for the festival, the cinema underwent renovations and returned in grand style. Despite some hiccups, such as the projection failure of... The Poor DevilsAlthough the festival caused moments of tension among the audience in the following days whenever the films were slow to appear on screen, it did not lose any of its brilliance or quality.

Quality was, in fact, the keynote of this festival. Excellent actors and outstanding technical quality marked every day of the screenings. There were six days of competitive screenings, 12 feature films, six documentaries and six fiction films. The 46th Brasília Film Festival was marked by packed theaters, a mix of young and veteran filmmakers, and the return of the revitalized Cine Brasília.
