Brasilia 247 - Federal deputy Erika Kokay (PT-DF) criticized the Michel Temer government, which continues to advance with the sell-off of national assets and attempts to privatize Eletrobras.

"The Temer government has no legitimacy to hand over the assets of the Brazilian people. The majority of Brazilian society is against privatizations and defends that #EletrobrasPublica should serve Brazil and not the interests of foreign state-owned companies!", the congresswoman wrote on her Twitter account. "Defending @Eletrobras is defending national sovereignty! #EletrobrasPublica," she added.

After the provisional measure (MP 814/17) failed to materialize, the Michel Temer government is attempting a new move, which is the bill (PL 10332/18). The proposal foresees the privatization of energy from Eletrobras distributors. The bill is being processed under urgency procedures and awaits simultaneous opinions from the Committees on Mines and Energy, Finance and Taxation (CFT), and Constitution and Justice (CCJ).
