Two fugitives in the Planaltina de Goiás prison.

Prisoners made a hole in the roof to escape during sunbathing time; the fugitives were serving time for robbery; the prison in the area surrounding the Federal District is overcrowded.

Brasília 247 - Two prisoners, one 32 and the other 26, escaped this Friday morning (6) from the Planaltina de Goiás Public Jail, a city in the Entorno of the Federal District (DF). The fugitives were serving sentences for robbery followed by death.

It is suspected that either the criminals made a hole in the prison roof or jumped over the wall during their sunbathing time. They are still at large, but police said they will intensify the search.

The jail is overcrowded. Where there should be 60 people, there are 160 prisoners in maximum security and another 30 in semi-open custody. During the shift, only two guards and one police officer were working.
