Brasilia 247 – The arrest of businessman Lúcio Funaro, which occurred this morning (read hereThis could bring the Chamber of Deputies to an implode. This is because Funaro was Eduardo Cunha's (PMDB-RJ) main ally in his election to the presidency of the Chamber of Deputies and knows each of the parliamentarians in Michel Temer's allied base like the back of his hand.
Funaro already made a plea bargain in the Mensalão scandal, when he was accused of working for Valdemar Costa Neto of the PL party. If he repeats this action, he could practically implode the entire PMDB party, as well as the parties of the so-called Centrão (center-right bloc).
The businessman was accused of raising illicit funds for Cunha through FI-FGTS financing. These funds, it is suspected, were used to maintain Eduardo Cunha's parliamentary base through regular payments and campaign donations. With this, he controlled approximately 55% of the votes in the House and managed to approve the impeachment of President Dilma Rousseff.
If Funaro decides to reveal what he knows, the Brazilian parliament will implode.
