Brasilia 247 – The adjustment to the energy bill in the Federal District came into effect this Monday (26). Now, the population will pay 5,75% more. Commercial establishments and industries suffered an increase of 5,94% and 6,43%, respectively. The increase in bills was approved last Wednesday (21) by the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel).
In justifying the readjustment, Aneel (Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency) claimed that the measure was taken due to price variations in the company's costs over the past year. According to an article in Correio Braziliense, in the latest "continuity of services" ranking, the Companhia Energética de Brasília (CEB) occupies the 33rd position. After Brasília, the distribution companies of Goiás and Pará are ranked. CEB reported that residents of Brasília have the fourth lowest tariff in the country.
