Congress should overturn Bolsonaro's veto on salary increase for civil servants, says rapporteur.

247 - Federal deputy Pedro Paulo (DEM-RJ), rapporteur of the bill to aid states and municipalities, believes that the National Congress should overturn Jair Bolsonaro's veto of the article that exempts certain categories of public servants from the salary freeze until the end of 2021.

"I think it's difficult not to overturn it," the congressman says. newspaper The State of S.Paulo"Because to avoid being ousted, we would need a president who engages in dialogue with society, with public servants, with Congress, and not just complain and fight. That way, nothing is achieved, only defeats," he adds.

Bolsonaro said that by this Wednesday (13) he should approve the aid bill for the States with a veto on the possibility of salary increases. 

A complete freeze would guarantee savings of R$ 130 billion for the Brazilian federal government, states, and municipalities. As approved by Congress, the text provides relief of only R$ 43 billion.
