Brasilia - The rain did not discourage Brasilia fans who decided today (22) to go to the Mané Garrincha National Stadium in Brasilia to watch the final of the International Women's Football Tournament, played by the teams of Brazil and Chile. In the stands, the atmosphere was vibrant and colorful. More than 30 fans wearing jerseys from various clubs across the country cheered on the Brazilian national team in a spirit of harmony.
Retired Maria Gomes brought her granddaughter Priscila Botier to support the Brazilian team. "Everything is beautiful, wonderful," she said excitedly, with the national team's jersey wrapped around one hand.
Cashier Anne Carolina spared no effort to go to Mané Garrincha for the first time. A resident of Recanto das Emas, a city 30 kilometers from the center of Brasília, she left home at 14 pm to take the bus to the stadium.
“Seeing Marta is worth the effort,” she said. For her, women's football needs more tournaments like this to become as popular in the country as men's football. “The game is good, the stadium has very good infrastructure. This was the first edition of the tournament held outside of São Paulo. It was also the first time that doorman Jairon Vieira da Silva had been to the Mané Garrincha stadium.
