247 - The national president of the PP, Senator Ciro Nogueira (PI), stated this Thursday (20) that the party supports the proposal discussed by the federal government to extend the Income Tax (IR) exemption for those who receive up to R$ 5. The party has 50 deputies and six senators, and usually opposes the administration led by the PT.

But the congressman stated that the compensations proposed by the Executive branch are not realistic. According to the senator, the PP will present a "feasible" alternative for compensation.

"Exempting those who earn less from income tax is a victory for the low-income population, which will have our full support. However, without realistic compensatory measures, this will be yet another benefit that will be lost amidst inflation and fiscal crisis," wrote Ciro Nogueira in a post on the social network X.
