The convicted criminal arrived in Brasília around 8 am; he was transferred from the federal prison in Mossoró to the Papuda Provisional Detention Center, intended for prisoners of the Federal Police; Cachoeira will share the same cell with 22 other inmates.
Agência Brasil – Carlos Augusto Ramos, known as Carlinhos Cachoeira, is now at the Papuda Penitentiary Complex in Brasília, where he will share a cell with 22 other prisoners. He arrived in the federal capital around 8 am, coming from the Mossoró Federal Prison (RN).
According to the Federal District Security Secretariat, he will be held at the Papuda Provisional Detention Center, in an area designated for prisoners of the Federal Police (PF). Carlinhos Cachoeira will remain at the disposal of the Justice system indefinitely.
According to the National Penitentiary Department (Depen), he arrived on a commercial flight from Fortaleza, escorted by federal police officers. The journey from Mossoró to the capital of Ceará was made by car.
Investigations by the Federal Police, through Operations Vegas and Monte Carlo on gambling, indicate the involvement of public and private agents with the businessman. There are suspicions that businessmen and politicians received money from Cachoeira to promote influence peddling in order to, among other actions, approve proposals in Congress that would benefit the sector.
