Bolsonaro uses children in video for political campaign without parental authorization.
The guardians of one of the students, who is under 10 years old, filed a police report and are now going to court to prevent the video from being published.
247 Jair Bolsonaro used images of children from a school in Brasília to make a video that is being used for his political campaign.
According to columnist Guilherme Amado, from MetropolisThe parents of one of these children filed a police report this Friday.
The guardians of a minor who appears in the video said they feel like they failed to protect their daughter.
The school allegedly deceived the parents. It requested permission for a field trip, with the students wearing Brazilian national team jerseys, to produce images related to the World Cup.
However, the students were taken to the Alvorada Palace, and the video was recorded there.
“My daughter’s mother and I sent her wearing the white shirt because we didn’t want her to be associated with politics. It’s not about taking sides, it’s about protecting my daughter, who isn’t even 10 years old. And then I found out about the video because people came to talk to me about it. We are very sad; our daughter is being exposed worldwide. I feel like I couldn’t protect my daughter,” said the father of one of the students, the singer Milsinho, his voice choked with tears.
The mother is public servant Carol Silva. Both are united in their initiative to go to court to have the video removed from the internet or to prevent it from continuing to be published.
“We fear reprisals; my daughter is Black, and people are killing people because of the color of their shirts or their political stance. We don't want our daughter to go through that,” Milsinho stated.
