Bolsonaro: coup proposal is apocryphal and 'never went beyond the planning stage'

According to Jair Bolsonaro, the document found at the home of former minister Anderson Torres "does not indicate any concrete actions."

247 - Jair Bolsonaro (PL) said this Thursday (19), in a response sent to the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), that the coup-mongering draft found in the house of former Justice Minister Anderson Torres is "apocryphal", was never published and "never went beyond the realm of speculation". Bolsonaro's position was published by column by Malu Gaspar

"It is necessary to state that the apocryphal document, attached to the case file, was not found in the possession of the investigated parties, nor was it signed by them, and the attached document does not indicate any concrete acts or even circumstantial evidence that they participated in its drafting or acted to ensure that the measures supposedly intended by the document were materialized in the realm of phenomenal reality," he said.

On January 12, federal police found a document at Torres's home in Brasília. with strategies for an attempted coup in the country. 

The Minister of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), Benedito Gonçalves determined the inclusion of bill of the coup in an investigation against Bolsonaro and the vice-presidential candidate, Braga Netto, who led meetings to discuss a way to change the outcome of the election if then-candidate Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva won.
