Bolsonaro unfurls a flag on the facade of the Planalto Palace during a campaign event and challenges: 'I want to see you take it down'.

"I had it put up in Alvorada, which is my house. I don't think anyone will have the courage to say, 'Take it down or I'll fine you some amount of money per day,'" he said.

247 - Candidate for re-election, Jair Bolsonaro (PL) ordered a giant Brazilian flag to be displayed on the facade of the Planalto Palace on Friday evening (14) and challenged anyone to order its removal. "No one will have the courage," said Bolsonaro, without mentioning names, according to the Folha de S. Paul.

The large banner installed covers part of the columns of the building designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer. The building is a protected historical landmark and cannot undergo any alterations without authorization from the competent authorities, such as the National Institute of Historic and Artistic Heritage (Iphan).

"Today I asked them to get a used, enormous flag that's there in Brasília and put it up at the Alvorada Palace, which is my house. I don't think anyone will have the courage to say, 'Take it down or I'll fine you some amount of money per day.' It's our Brazilian flag. The issue of censorship will be resolved slowly. Certain things you don't lose overnight. You lose them over time," Bolsonaro said during a live internet broadcast.
