At the ministerial meeting in April, Bolsonaro said he has a "private system" of information that works and criticized the official system, saying it "misinforms."
“My private system works. The official ones spread misinformation. And going back to the topic: ‘I prefer not to have information than to be misinformed by the information system I have’,” Bolsonaro said at the meeting.
After the video was released, Bolsonaro said that "a farce" had been exposed, and reiterated that he did not try to interfere in the command of the Federal Police. "No indication of interference in the Federal Police," he stated.
"Where is the part of the video where I talk about the superintendent or director-general of the Federal Police? I'm talking about my personal security," he added.
When questioned in an interview about the "private system" of information he claimed to have, Bolsonaro said that he obtains the information through a series of private contacts, and criticized, as he did in the video, the intelligence services of the official forces.
"This is the information I have, my personal information, that I discover many things that, unfortunately, I don't discover through official intelligence agencies, such as the Federal Police, the Navy, the Air Force, the Army, and ABIN (Brazilian Intelligence Agency), that's it," he stated.
