Brazilian diplomacy extended the invitation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, on November 25, 2021, during his visit to Brazil.
Salman is a dictator known for his brutal violence against opponents. The prince is accused, for example, of ordering the assassination, in 2018, of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who was dismembered and last seen inside the Saudi embassy in Turkey.
