Bolsonaro attacks Moro and says the Federal Police only started working after he left the government.
"With the change of the Minister of Justice, as if by magic, several diverse operations were carried out. The Federal Highway Police, in turn, almost tripled its drug seizures with the new minister," Jair Bolsonaro posted on his social media.
247 - Accused by former minister Sergio Moro, who is being groomed by Globo as a potential presidential candidate, of hindering the "fight against corruption," Jair Bolsonaro reacted and, on Saturday night, stated that the Federal Police only started functioning properly after the change of leadership in Brasília. - FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION/THE TRUTH:
- The most effective anti-corruption program I implemented was by not allocating strategic positions, such as the presidencies of state-owned companies, to political appointees.
The Federal Police enjoys complete freedom in its mission. I have never interfered, nor could I, in absolutely anything.
This year, the Federal Police will have 600 more professionals, and the new Minister of Justice has announced a new recruitment process for 2.000 more positions.
With the change of the Minister of Justice, as if by magic, several diverse operations were carried out. The Federal Highway Police (PRF), in turn, almost tripled its drug seizures under the new minister.
Any operation, whether combating corruption or not, must be conducted within the limits of the law, and that is how it has been done in my government.
As for operations conducted by another branch of government, I am not responsible for them.
I proudly say: we have gone 18 months without any corruption allegations. This has bothered some of the press and those who lost in 2018.
