Barbosa ends the process for Pedro Correa.

The president of the Supreme Federal Court, Joaquim Barbosa, denied an appeal and ordered the end of Criminal Action 470 for former congressman Pedro Correa. With this decision, Correa could have his arrest ordered immediately.

Brasilia - The president of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Joaquim Barbosa, today (2) denied an appeal and ordered the end of Criminal Action 470, the mensalão trial, for former federal deputy Pedro Corrêa (PP-PE), sentenced to seven years and two months in prison. With the decision, Correa could have his arrest ordered immediately. 

On Friday (29), the Attorney General of the Republic, Rodrigo Janot, sent an opinion to the Supreme Court in favor of Correa's arrest. In the opinion, Janot says that the former deputy's sentence must be executed immediately because there is no further appeal against the conviction.
