Tax auditor arrested in Operation Sphinx.
The Federal Police (PF) arrested, in Brasília, through Operation Sphinx, the former general coordinator of Tax Inspection of the Federal Revenue Service, Marcelo Fisch, and his wife, Mariangela Menezes, indicted and charged with crimes of passive and active corruption. The PF also executed six search and seizure warrants at addresses of members of the criminal group in São Paulo and Brasília. The operation investigates fraud exceeding R$ 6 billion in bidding contracts; it is estimated that the group moved more than R$ 70 million in bribes.

The PF also executed six search and seizure warrants at addresses of members of the criminal group in São Paulo and Brasília. The operation investigates frauds of more than R$ 6 billion in bidding contracts. It is estimated that the group moved more than R$ 70 million in bribes.
Approximately 30 federal police officers and 12 employees from the General Inspectorate of the Ministry of Finance participated in the operation, in conjunction with the Ministry of Finance and the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF).
According to investigations, the criminal organization committed bid-rigging, embezzlement of public funds, corruption, and money laundering in Rio de Janeiro.
