247 – After hosting major World Cup matches, the Mané Garrincha stadium may be privatized by the government of the Federal District.

"Studies will be carried out to hold an international bidding process aimed at transferring the administration of the stadium," confirmed the governor of the Federal District, Agnelo Queiroz (PT).

The new stadium, renovated at a high cost of over R$ 1,4 billion, has received more than 1 million people since its reopening in May 2013, and generated revenue of R$ 3,2 million.

According to the Secretary of the World Cup in the Federal District, Cláudio Monteiro, six Brazilian Championship games, an international women's soccer tournament, two concerts with the capacity to fill the stadium, and an event linked to an American cartoon franchise are already scheduled.
