247 - A protest held on Monday morning, the 30th, by analysts and technicians in finance and control, organized by the union representing the category, calls for the dismissal of the Minister of Transparency, Oversight and Control, Fabiano Silveira.
The act prevented Silveira from entering the headquarters of the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU). The interim minister tried to enter the building, but ended up leaving the premises due to the demonstration. During the demonstration, employees of the agency washed the building's stairs.
This Sunday, Fantástico, on TV Globo, released audios from Sérgio Machado, former president of Transpetro, which reveal Silveira's criticisms of Operation Lava Jato and his instructions to the president of the Senate, Renan Calheiros (PMDB-AL), on how to confront the investigations.
"There's no way to keep the minister in this situation. We're talking to the heads of departments, and several are already wanting to resign until the minister is dismissed," said Rudinei Marques, president of the National Union of Analysts and Technicians of Finance and Control.
"Mr. Fabiano Martins Silveira, by participating in shady meetings to advise those under investigation in Operation Lava Jato, as well as by lobbying authorities and public bodies to investigate allegations against his political allies, has demonstrated that he does not meet the necessary conduct requirements to lead an organization that upholds public transparency and the fight against corruption," reads part of the statement released by the entity.
In a statement, Silveira said he was at the meeting at Renan's house "in passing" and that he was "involuntarily" in an informal conversation. He also stated that "he was unaware of the presence of this Mr. Sérgio Machado, with whom the current minister has no relationship, professional or personal, and that it would be impossible to control the Public Prosecutor's Office."
