Brasilia 247 – Around 50 students from Gama Filho University (RJ), who spent the night camped in front of the Planalto Palace, scheduled a meeting with the Ministry of Education (MEC) for Thursday morning (16). The students are asking for the federalization of the university and the University Center of the City (UinverCidade), after the institution was de-accredited last Monday (13) by the MEC, due to low academic performance. The students will be transferred to other institutions.

The general coordinator of health for the Central Student Directory (DCE) of the university, Lívia Freitas Rodrigues, 25 years old, informed that the objective of the meeting is to allow the group to monitor the transfer process, according to Correio Braziliense. But the group has already stated that it will remain in Brasília to try to dialogue with President Dilma Rousseff (PT), to request the federalization of the university, a request denied by the MEC (Ministry of Education).
