Cunha's lawyer is elected to the Public Prosecutor's Council.

Gustavo do Vale Rocha is a lawyer for the Speaker of the House, Eduardo Cunha, in some legal proceedings and has also had a contract with the PMDB party since 2008; if the nomination passes the Senate, he will take the place of Luiz Moreira, whose term ended on April 2nd; the CNMP, composed of 14 members, is responsible for overseeing the members of the Public Prosecutor's Office and is chaired by the Attorney General of the Republic, Rodrigo Janot.

The plenary session of the Chamber of Deputies approved, this Wednesday (April 15), the name of lawyer Gustavo do Vale Rocha to fill a vacancy on the National Council of the Public Prosecutor's Office, with 376 votes in favor and 26 against, in addition to 36 abstentions. The chosen candidate is a lawyer for the PMDB, the party of the president of the House, Eduardo Cunha, and defended the deputy in at least eight cases that are being processed in the Court of Justice of the Federal District.
Rocha also holds a master's degree in Law from Uniceub – Centro Universitário de Brasília, a specialization in Business Law from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), and has been a university professor since 1999, teaching Civil Law.

He will take the place of Luiz Moreira, whose term ended on April 2nd. The CNMP, composed of 14 members, is responsible for overseeing the members of the Public Prosecutor's Office and is chaired by the Attorney General of the Republic, Rodrigo Janot.
