Braga Netto's lawyer appeals to the Brazilian Bar Association against Moraes for prohibiting the recording of the confrontation with Mauro Cid.
The general's defense accused the Supreme Court Justice of violating the prerogatives of legal professionals.
247 - Lawyer José Luis Oliveira Lima, who defends General Walter Braga Netto in the investigation into the coup plot, appealed to the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) this Thursday (26) against Supreme Federal Court (STF) minister Alexandre de Moraes.
According to information published in the column by Monica BergamoThe military officer's defense argued that the judge violated the prerogatives of legal professionals by prohibiting Braga Netto's team from recording the confrontation hearing between the general and Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid.
"The confrontation was the only one conducted behind closed doors, without adequate justification," said the lawyer. "The absence of any visual or audio recording of the confrontation is absolutely incompatible with the magnitude of this trial, notably one of the most important in the history of the Supreme Federal Court."
Braga Netto and Mauro Cid are two of the 31 defendants in the investigation into the coup plot. Former president Jair Bolsonaro, some of his former ministers and aides are also facing criminal charges. They will still be tried by the Supreme Federal Court (STF).
Currently, Braga Netto is serving a prison sentence, since December of last year, in the General Staff room of the 1st Army Division Command, in the state of Rio de Janeiro. This week, the general had to leave prison temporarily for a confrontation with Mauro Cid.
