247 - Six individuals indicted by the Attorney General's Office (PGR) in the investigation of the coup plot have already submitted their defenses to the Supreme Federal Court: Colonel Bernardo Romão Corrêa Netto, General Cleverson Magalhães, Lieutenant Colonel Ronald Ferreira de Araújo Júnior, Colonel Marcio Nunes de Resende Jr., Carlos Rocha, president of the Instituto Voto Legal, and Colonel Marcelo Câmara, former advisor to Jair Bolsonaro. The list was published in... G1 PortalOthers indicted by the Attorney General's Office had already submitted their defense statements to the Court. Among them are Augusto Heleno (former Minister of the Institutional Security Cabinet), Alexandre Ramagem (former director of ABIN and current federal deputy for PL-RJ), and Paulo Sérgio Nogueira de Oliveira (former Minister of Defense).
The deadline for some of the lawyers to send their preliminary arguments to STF minister Alexandre de Moraes began to expire this Thursday (6). A second group of defendants may submit the document until this Friday (7).
After the defenses are submitted, rapporteur Alexandre de Moraes will analyze whether there are new documents and whether the material should be forwarded to the Attorney General's Office for further comment. After the magistrate prepares his vote, the case may be released for judgment in the Supreme Court.
The Attorney General's Office has indicted Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and 33 others in the investigation into the coup plot. Before information about the coup plot reached the Attorney General's Office, the Federal Police had already indicted dozens of people. - Valdemar Costa Neto; president of the PL, the party through which Jair Bolsonaro and Braga Netto ran in the 2022 elections;
- Alexandre Castilho Bitencourt da Silva, an Army colonel and one of the authors of the coup-supporting document "Letter to the Commander of the Army from Senior Active Duty Officers and the Brazilian Army";
- Anderson Lima de Moura, an Army colonel and another author of the document.
- Amauri Feres Saad, a lawyer cited in the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry into Coup Acts as the "intellectual mastermind" of the coup plan found with former minister Anderson Torres;
- Carlos Giovani Delevati Pasini, an Army colonel suspected of participating in the drafting of the letter;
- Fernando Cerimedo, an Argentinian businessman who went live questioning the security of electronic voting machines in the 2022 elections;
- José Eduardo de Oliveira e Silva, priest of the diocese of Osasco;
- Laercio Vergilio, retired general;
- Ronald Ferreira de Araujo Junior, Lieutenant Colonel of the Army
- Tércio Arnaud Tomaz, former advisor to Bolsonaro and considered one of the pillars of the so-called "hate cabinet";
- Aparecido Andrade Portella
